Perfumer Quentin Bisch and Marc-Antoine Barrois have once again pushed the envelope of creativity, the result an unorthodox, and standalone perfume - Aldebaran.

Like the distant celestial skies previously imagined in Ganymede and Encelade, this remarkable composition feels like the third act of an olfactory extra-terrestrial space opera – Futuristic, yet marginally retro, this ultimately transcends time and place - its diffusion more of a feeling, or a lost emotion.
This is perfectly abstract, neither night nor day, associative or seasonal, although the evocation of lush damp vegetation, and the presence of a hedonistic white floral anchors the proceedings with gravitas throughout the perfume's development.

A complex multi layered creation opening with waxy aldehydic flourishes, supported by a smooth mint facet. Cool and calming, the initial impression is that of absinthe, bordering on wintergreen - medicinal, leafy and herbal.
The usual territory of Tuberose is one of shameless indolic, carnal lust. This, despite its richness, is more intimate and inward looking. If classic perfumes like Fracas by Robert Piguet and Poison by Dior were the body on display as a temple, then Aldebaran is a deep dive - the still waters of the soul.
Enigmatic, mercurial, genderless - this is a peculiar yet beautiful scent; somehow more than the sum of its parts.
Like a fever dream, equal parts elusive yet vivid, it darts from the decadent, damp scent of truffle to the barely perceptible arid heat of red spices. These two completely opposites collide quietly to create a homogenous tightly woven abstract floral - neither animalic nor mineral, but loamy and fractionally savoury.
This doesn't recall the great white florals of yesteryear, nor is it a minimalist soliflore. This really does break new ground with its concept of juxtaposition, but so masterfully orchestrated that the florals, spices and truffle facets become one, and even leave space in the final dry down for some super smooth lactonic milkiness.

From Marc-Antoine Barrois:
"Aldebaran is the embodiment of a star – radiant, mysterious, and powerful.
It unveils itself as a bright, white light in the darkness, with a delicate yet bold presence that captures the caress of the moon on a field of tuberoses.
The immaculate petals reflect the star's glow, creating an enchanting and unforgettable aura. With its modern simplicity and captivating elegance, Aldebaran exudes a powerful halo of fragrance, effortlessly blending notes of white flowers for a fragrance that is both protective and haughty, like the diva of the night sky."
Notes: Tuberose Absolute – Mate – Paprika Accord – Tonka Bean
